I love the holidays, probably more than the next person. I enjoy giving to others, cooking, and baking, but most of all, I love to decorate. When I think of decorating for the holidays I’m always reminded of how they do it at the White House, after all, no one celebrates Christmas quite like the White House. Now I can at least try to celebrate the holidays just like the First Ladies did when they lived in the White House with Christmas with the First Ladies.
Christmas with the First Ladies, The White House Decorating Traditions from Jacqueline Kennedy to Michelle Obama is Written by Coleen Christian Burke with Foreword by Deborah Norville this book uncovers The White House decorating traditions of the First Ladies. Christmas with the First Ladies shares the cherished holiday traditions from America’s most famous residence and the women who made it their home.
After reading through this entire book I found a recipe I want to make. This week I’m making Lady Bird’s famous Christmas Cranberry Salad Mold and sharing it here with all of you. It was an easy choice, I love cranberries and I wanted something different to serve my family. Cranberry sauce straight from the can is a bit boring.
I think it’s amazing that I can create something for my family that Lady Bird enjoyed making so much. Lady Bird loved this recipe and often made it and urged every one to try it. I can’t wait to try it for myself.
