No compensation was given for this post. I attended a press event which facilitated this post. Accommodations were provided.
Muppets Most Wanted premiere at the El Capitan Theatre was an experience I won’t soon forget. The red carpet had been rolled out for this special Muppets event. Let’s face it, we are all really just kids at heart and there were plenty of die-hard Muppets fans in our blogging group. I don’t want to talk much about the movie; that post comes later. All I wanted to do here was give you a little peek into my amazing red carpet and after-party experience.
The Muppets arrived in style, riding in the an all-new 2014 Toyota Highlander. After all, how else would they arrive; they are the stars of the movie and should be treated as such.
The red carpet was a lot of fun. Our group arrived at the same time as Tina Fey, and in a lot of her professional red carpet photos you can see our group walking behind her; it’s hilarious.
I had a game plan for this red carpet. Unlike the other red carpets I’ve been on, I’ve never had a “photo buddy”. This time I asked blogger and friend Andrew from Mommy’s Busy, Go Ask Daddy to be my photo buddy. Andrew had never been to one of these red carpet premiere before, so I did my best to prepare him a head of time and told him he’d need to choose a photo buddy if he wanted to get some great shots of myself on the carpet. If you’ve never been before, it’s almost impossible to get a good photo. There are always guards yelling at you to move on, and the paparazzi is yelling “clear the back drop” because obviously they want a great photo of the stars, with a cleared background. But we were awesome, even with people yelling at us we still were able to hold and smile and strike a pose. Mission accomplished!
For the world premiere of Muppets Most Wanted the audience was treated to two disagreeable old men, Statler & Waldorf. The pair got the audience laughing, then the curtains opened and Muppets Most Wanted started. I was sitting next to one of these die-hard Muppets fans like I had mentioned earlier. Let’s just say, he couldn’t stop smiling, and I couldn’t blame him. The entire audience was treated to something that most movie goers won’t ever get.
After the movie ended, we were escorted across the street to the Muppets Most Wanted premiere party at the Hollywood & Highland Annex. I mean seriously, a party where I can mix and mingle with the likes of Tina Fey, Ricky Gervais, Ty Burrell, Ray Liotta, and even Josh Groban? I’m there!
The after-party was so much fun, the food was delicious, the atmosphere was fun and themed just for the movie. Drinks were flowing, (but I only had one) and everyone had an amazing time. During the fun at the after-party, I was able to chat and snap a few photos with some of my daughter’s favorite Disney stars. This mom won major brownie points, let me tell you. I texted my husband the photos of me with Skai Jackon, and G. Hannelius. Others were there, but I didn’t want to be that crazy mom blogger running around the room harassing these kids for photos. After all, they were there to have fun and hang with their friends.
Keep an eye out, my next #MuppetsMostWantedEvent post will go live on March 20th. You’ll get to hear what Kermit, Miss Piggy, and Constantine had to say about their new movie, Muppets Most Wanted.
