I received a free notebook to facilitate this blog post. Prizing is offered by First Draft Co. No monetary compensation was given.

It is not often that you find something that is amazingly functional as well as beautifully crafted. I have been lucky enough to experience both with this gorgeous notebook that Joe and Ryan from First Draft Co. sent me a few weeks ago. Ever since I was old enough to write I’ve kept a journal of some sort. I couldn’t turn down the chance to use this beautiful brick color notebook.

First Draft Co. Notebook

First Draft Co. launched their signature notebooks in December and the response has been fantastic. Everyone is falling in love with the modern design and quality construction of these notebooks.

For me, it has been an indispensable part of trying to keep my day organized, tracking to-do lists, making progress on all the projects I am working on, and just making better order of life in general. The added benefit is the boost in creativity I’ve seen. Having a notebook with me for when creativity strikes has been a great way to jot down blog ideas, sketch out designs or keep track of those random ideas that pop into my head. There is something about writing that I find relaxing and therapeutic. I don’t care how far technology takes us, I’ll always have freshly sharpened pencils and plenty of party on my desk for when the mood strikes.

I am firm believer that a product must do well first, but if the product also has some really attractive design elements, I am going to be more inclined to use it daily, and to suggest it to my friends and family. I really can’t say enough nice things about the overall design of these notebooks.

Did I mention they come in three different colors?  I’ve been using the Brick, which is a really nice deep red, but they also come in Navy and Sand, which look great as well:

As far as performance, several features stick out – 224 pages blank pages, great paper, and a really thick cloth hard cover make this a really functional product. Each notebook also has a matching ribbon bookmark sewn into the binding.

One of the most unique features, though, is this great elastic closure. It serves several purposes as it holds the notebook shut, has a handy loop for your pen or pencil and is a great place to tuck the odds and ends you accumulate during the day.  Each notebook color comes with a matching elastic band.

I am very excited to see where 2016 takes me and I have a feeling my First Draft Co. notebook will be right by side every step of the way. 1. I’d pick the brick because that would be the color dd would like the most…and we all know she will be the one who ends up with it! LOL I have “lost” so many notebooks to her it’s not funny! She loves drawing and writing in them but never finishes one before she moves onto her next notebook! 🙂

  2. I love the navy! I am needing a new notebook for my purse. I am always scrambling for something to write on when I am on the run.
