I know I’m a bit late, but oh well: Happy New Year’s, ya’ll. Here we are, just about a week into 2014 and I haven’t left my house since New Year’s Eve. Not that I’ve intentionally been in hibernation, there just hasn’t been anything worth making me put on make-up for and dress the kids and go out into the freezing cold weather.

2013 ended like any other New Year’s Eve here in Louisiana, with me being pissed and mad that my kids can’t sleep because of the fireworks. Fireworks cracking overhead and me, praying the kids don’t wake up, but alas, they did, and I didn’t actually fall asleep until 2014. I went to bed in 2013 and it took me until the following year to fall asleep, go figure.

There were inconsiderate partiers all around me and I was enraged. I wanted to jump out of bed, jump in my car, or just walk to track down the losers setting off fireworks. I wanted to march right up to them, dressed in my bathrobe and slippers and kick the living shitballs out of them.

I’m a total hypocrite though…before I had children of my own I was the inconsiderate butthole setting off fireworks well into the early morning hours.

It’s totally 100% legal to buy and set off fireworks where I live. I HATE the 4th of July and New Years for that exact reason.

Okay, with my fireworks rant out of the way, I can get to the good stuff!

I don’t believe in New Year’s resolutions, so I didn’t make any, but I do believe in attempting to live better and rid my life of stress. So I’ll just continue trying to do that. I resolve to live life and enjoy it more and worry less.

Did you notice anything different around here? Heather from Viva la Violette redesigned my blog for me. I love it. The gold glitter is definitely my favorite part.

I plan on making this year one for the record books. I’m stepping out of my comfort zone more. If you stick around here and you keep reading throughout the year, you’ll  get to know me a lot better. Plus, lots of fun things in the works for FMB.

Here’s to a pretty amazing 2014. I’m toasting with a glass of champagne as I type. Wishing you all a fabulous new year.

  1. Our neighbours were the inconsiderate buttholes here lighting off the fireworks. Scared the crap out of me!!

    Happy New Year!

  2. Ha!! No fireworks here, not sure why … yet I’d feel the same way! “I went to bed in 2013 and it took me until the following year to fall asleep, go figure.” Bwaaaaa!! Love this!!
