You are pregnant and that is great news for you and your family. There is a lot of preparation when a new person is joining your family unit and the thing to remember here is that babies do need a lot of things and it’s up to you to get what is required.
There is a lot to take in and it’s likely that your other family members are inundating you with many different suggestions and so it can get very confusing after a time.
There are so many different products to choose from on the shelves of supermarkets and in other stores and so it is very difficult knowing what to buy and what not to buy.
The important thing is to try to stay calm and understand that there is lots of help along the way and this includes the people who work in the various stores that you are now going to visit.
You will find that there is a lot of pregnancy shopping in the third trimester and so hopefully you have lots of money put away so that you can make the necessary purchases.
If you’d like to save yourself some money and only buy the things that are completely necessary then the following list may be of some help to you.
Baby clothing – This is one element of shopping that you will really enjoy because there is nothing cuter than picking up baby clothes and imagining your child in them.
It can be very easy to spend all of your money in one store buying things after making your baby announcement because you just caught up in the moment, but it is important that you stay focused and you only buy things that your baby will definitely need.
Your baby is going to need pyjamas, lots of onesies, a couple of pull on pants and some socks and baby booties.
Other things – Many things are overlooked when purchasing for your baby and so if you live in a particularly hot climate then a pair of sunglasses for your baby would be an excellent idea as would be a sun hat.
If you live in a cold climate during winter you have to keep their little heads warm along with some mittens to keep their hands warm as well. Mittens are also an excellent idea to stop your baby from scratching their skin with their new nails.
Things for the nursery – Every parent needs to have a baby monitor so they know exactly what’s going on in their child’s room when they are not there.
You definitely need a diaper changing table because you don’t want your baby to be rolling off the bed or other surface when you’re changing the nappy and you just look away for a moment. Investing in a car seat is also essential for any growing baby.
These are only a few of the things on a very long list and you’re going to need essentials for bath time when you need to watch your baby on a very regular basis.
There are many different baby shampoos as well as clippers to keep their nails short and a thermometer to keep an eye on their temperature.
