When your family has some extra, expendable income, what do you do with it? Sure, you may buy some back to school supplies or something big. But what big thing? Why waste money on a large screen TV when the TV you have right now works. And, what will that TV do for you down the road? It offers you more reasons to sit and not enjoy the world.

Instead, invest in something that can get you and your family outdoors and keep you busy for years to come with things that are fun, recreational, and maybe even educational. These investments will mean a lot more to you and your family than a 3D TV or a new gaming system.

Off Road Fun

Buying motor bikes, four-wheelers, and other off road motor vehicles can be fun for the whole family. These may cost more than that big screen TV, but they help get the kids outside and they will have much more fun on them than they would watching cartoons a third day in a row.

They are fun, but you also need to invest in safety equipment and spend time teaching your children how to properly ride their new machines. Never call them toys. They are motor vehicles and need to be respected. Also, while you may be the adult, never do anything on your dirt bike you wouldn’t want your child doing.

Fishing Gear And Fun In The Sun

The best thing to buy for a family that loves to fish is a boat. A boat can be a big investment, so look for a financial company, like Southeast Financial, that works to get the best deal possible for you so you can have fun with your new boat without worrying about money.

You’ll also need all the gear to set up your fishing vessel including poles and life jackets. You’ll also find it helpful to allow your children to take boaters safety classes, whether you’ll be letting them drive or not. This helps them learn how to stay safe in the open water as well.

Instead of just buying your kids a dog or cat, find a pet to invest in that will give them some more fun experiences. Maybe get a horse, if you have the property for it. Of course, you’ll need a saddle, a horse trailer, and much more. Having horses for your family, however, can be a great adventure, and allow you to take many great adventurous rides.

Or, maybe you want to invest in something that can teach them about life and food. Maybe raise rabbits or chickens and teach your children about harvesting eggs or growing their own meat, and much more.

Luxury Camping Gear

If you have a good lump sum of money, like you had a great year for your income taxes, invest in an RV or a motorhome. This purchase will offer your family years of joy. Not only will your children be begging to camp out right in your own yard, you’ll also find it easier to plan family vacations with an instant place to stay and a way to save on eating out.

Make sure you get everything you need, like a set of dishes and bedding that are strictly for the RV. Then start saving for that big vacation and make a plan of all the nature you’ll view and all the roadside attractions you’ll visit.

Don’t let your extra money go to waste on junk that your children will quickly get bored with. Instead, invest in something that will bring joy to the whole family and allow you to spend more time together, having fun!
