So, it’s that time of the month again. No, not that time of the month.
It’s girl’s night in. What to do? What to do? You’re tired of the club scene. And, you don’t really want to spend a lot of time primping to go out anyway. Here’s how to stay indoors and have a fabulous time with your BFFs.
Have a Photoshoot
Sounds a little cheesy, but you know you want to. Get your friends to take photos of you, and take photos of yourself. Then, post them up on Facebook. It won’t be that vein selfie-look. It’ll be your friends capturing you in an unexpected moment, photojournalistic style.
If you really want the photos to come out like glamour shots, you can play dress up and get your hair did. Or, just doll up your face and see what happens. It’s all good.
Netflix and Chill…With The Girls
No really. Just watch Netflix movies this time, and chill out on the couch. No games. No boys. Just a relaxing evening with your BFFs. Sometimes, it’s fun to keep things simple. You could start a binge night with your friends too (as long as you can all agree not to skip ahead on movies or T.V. shows.
Have a Sleepover
Another idea from your childhood that never really died. You’re never too old for a sleepover. And, the best part is that there are so many things you can do. Gather 5 of your best friends, and you can play a variety of card games for adults, like you know, Cards Against Humanity. Duh.
You can make a 5-course gourmet meal. Or, summon your inner Martha Stewart, and bake up some new-fangled sweet treat. It’s OK if it looks a little sketchy. Order take out or delivery as a backup.
Are you musically-inclined? Are your friends? Have them bring over their instruments and have a jam session.
Play video games if that’s your thing.
Or, tell boy stories. Everyone loves boy stories.
Have a Wine-Tasting Party
This one is fun if you’re a wine lover. Even if you’re not, you can still have a lot of fun with this one. Get some friends over and about 10 different wines. Have a flight, with some cheese and crackers and other snacks.
Or, ask everyone to bring a bottle and you’ll provide the snacks. If you want to turn it into a game, have everyone bring a bottle but don’t disclose who brought what. During the tasting, try to guess who brought what wine.
Get a Mani/Pedi
Give each other manis/pedis. It’s cheaper than going to nail salon, and as long as you and your friends are good with the nail polish, the finished results will be just as good.
Conclusion
You don’t have to spend a lot of money going out to have a good time with your girls. And, while it might not be something you want to do every time, it’s definitely a good idea to keep things low-key once in a while.

I love every single one of these ideas. Back when I lived on the East Coast I had so many girlfriends and we loved to do all of these. Thanks so much for sharing… I need these friends again
Girl’s nights in are hard for me, I assume it’s because I’m a guy. There must be something off-putting about the constant requests that we have a Star-Wars themed party.
My wife loves to hang out with her college buddies, though. So maybe this is right up her alley.
I’ll just stay at home and watch Star Wars by myself.
When we do a girls night in we like watching movies, eating and talking. Oh lots of giggles too!
These are all wonderful ideas. I love just sitting back and relaxing with some friends and movies or Netflix. We do that often. I love the wine tasting to. I need to host one of those parties soon!
These are great ideas for a girls night without going out or going too far! Girls time is so important for us to rejuvenate for sure!
I usually do the Netflix thing, but I’ve also done the at-home spa stuff. That’s really fun too.
I would love nothing better than to hang with my girls. I think the mani-pedi and watching Netflix sounds perfect.
Great ideas! Sometimes staying in is more relaxing and just as fun…or more fun! Thank you for the ideas!
