I’m taking my children to Virginia this year for spring break. I plan on taking the kids to Busch Gardens and I’m surprising them with a few nights at The Great Wolf Lodge. I know we are going to have so much fun, and seeing my mom, brother and childhood friends is always a good time.

Taking the family on a fun trip is a great way to spend spring break. After all, you can all see a brand new place together, experience new things together, and make memories together that will last a lifetime. Plus, it is a great way to escape work and school for a while and reconnect as a family, perhaps even in a warmer place where you can even get away from the cold temperatures and snow.

Visit Las Vegas

Check out the list below of great places to take your kids on spring break if you are searching for some ideas for your next journey as a family.

Even though most people think of Las Vegas casinos and think it is a city that is only really suited to an older crowd, the truth is that there are also plenty of really fun activities that families can enjoy with their kids. A great example is Hershey’s Chocolate World, which is conveniently located on South Las Vegas Boulevard.

Chocolate lovers will have a blast exploring this two-story building that features anything and everything related to the Hershey’s brand. Guests can make their very own Hershey’s happiness by participating in interactive experiences like personalizing their own chocolate bar wrapper or finding their Reese’s perfect combination.

Take a Cruise

A cruise is another fantastic way to spend time with your family during spring break. There are cruises that last a few days or as long as a week, and they leave from a variety of destinations, making it easy for you to find a cruise line that will take you to wherever it is that you want to go, whether that is up to Alaska or down to the Caribbean.

In addition to being able to have an amazing time exploring the areas that your cruise takes you to, you can also have a fun time while aboard the ship. From a spa that will allow you to melt your tension away, to sports and games for the kids, cruise lines make it a point to offer something for everyone. And, of course, you can enjoy dinner, dancing, and swimming as well.

Explore Southern California

The great thing about spending your spring break in Southern California, or SoCal, is the fact that you have so many different areas to explore as a family. This means that no one will ever get bored and you can do something that will make everyone happy. For the best options, check out Orange County, as there are plenty of great towns between San Diego and Los Angeles, all offering everything from amusement parks and water sports, to piers, beaches, and much more.

Be sure to visit the Huntington Beach Pier for shopping and dining. If your kids want to spend time on the beach, check out Newport Beach, which is truly beautiful and also features Balboa Fun Zone, which is filled with games and a Ferris wheel.

Spend Time on a Beach in Florida

beachWith so many gorgeous beaches throughout the state and summer weather waiting for you, Florida is the ideal destination to head to during spring break if you and your family want to spend time getting a tan and swimming in the ocean. Check out beachside towns like Fort Lauderdale and Miami, or visit Orlando for its many amusement parks.

The great thing about Florida is that it gives you the chance to feel like you have escaped to a tropical paradise without having to leave the country. Plus, there are plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy, including wildlife watching in the Everglades or hiking through parks and forests, and there are also plenty of opportunities to indulge in delicious food and shop for some great souvenirs.

Take in All That New York City Has to Offer

For families that would rather not spend time on a beach during spring break, New York City has plenty to do and see.

Places to Take Your Kids on Spring Break

You can visit the Statue of Liberty and the Empire State Building, explore Central Park, watch a Broadway show, visit a variety of museums and walk through Times Square. With so many famous landmarks and loads of dining and entertainment, you will never get bored in NYC.

There are many amazing places to visit and explore during spring break, so you and your family can have an unforgettable experience while doing things that you’ve never done before. Whether you head to a tropical destination or to Las Vegas, you are guaranteed to be able to find the ideal spot for your much-needed getaway.
