The summer vacation is always great fun: the kids make the most of the glorious weather, playing outdoors, staying up late and spending time with siblings and friends. But, it’s hard to believe that so many weeks off school isn’t causing them to forget much of what they’ve learnt over the year. So, how can you prevent brain drain when your kids are on vacation?

Well, it would be a shame to shove anything too educational their way… they’d spot it a mile off, and vacations should be about having fun and relaxing, after all! But, there are a few activities you can do together that are really enjoyable and yet also teach them something, reinforcing all the things they learnt in the classroom.

Hope Education (a supplier of educational resources based in Europe) has suggested some really great ideas, ranging from heading to a sports game to simply keeping a journal. Take a look below and let me know – which of these activities will you and your kids be doing to keep their brains sharp while they’re on vacation?
