Let’s talk about book for a bit. With so many great movies coming out lately, it’s imperative that I read the books first. I’ve learned this the hard way. So many times a movie ruins a good book. I always find comfort in knowing the book is usually always better than the movie.

never judge a book by its movie

Already Read

I normally wouldn’t list books I’ve already read, but I’m pretty proud that I’ve managed to carve out a bit of time for myself every day to do something that brings me so much joy.

Want to Read

And basically all of these books, some of which I already mentioned above. >>>>>>

Here is a great list of books to read this year before they hit theaters…most of these have already hit theaters, but if you haven’t seen them yet then definitely read them first. Most of these are on my list of books I want to read. >>>>>>

Currently Reading

Every time I buy a new book, I tend to splurge and go for the hardcover edition. I want to create a beautiful library of books to leave my children and to share with friends.

Now it’s your turn. What are you currently reading, want to read, or have read? I’d love to know.

  1. I love your list! I just finished the fault in our stars. Had me a wreck for a week! I’m currently on Mad about a Boy (Brudget Jones) and cried when I read that she was single again because Mark died (was killed? I’m not that far, yet). Getting new book lists are the best. I’ll be sharing yours so I remember it!

  2. This is so true! I’m teaching language arts (6th grade) this year. It’s tough to convince kids to read a book once a movie has been released. However, there are so many movies that don’t do the books justice!

  3. I loved If I Stay. Right now I am reading Maybe Someday by Colleen Hoover. She is a literary genius! 🙂

  4. With a new baby this past year, I haven’t really had time to read much. I do enjoy reading books before watching the movies though. I think it’s fun to find the differences.

  5. I am not a huge book reader, but I enjoy more self help books. These sound like great books. I didn’t realize If I Stay was a book, that is neat!

  6. My daughter read If I Stay a while back. I think she plans to see the movie. I have seen previews for it and it looks good, but I don’t want to see it without reading the book.

  7. I am currently reading a non fiction book about the development of the atomic bomb. I am not sure what I am going to read next, but I want some a little lighter!

  8. Ann BAcciaglia Reply

I am in the process of moving so I am not reading anything right now. I do have a stack of books that I can not wait to read as soon as I have time.

  9. I am currently reading The Hollows series… it is a a easy read and so much fun. I like to read while on the elliptical… so I need something not-so-deep… ha
