This week’s Pretty on Pinterest is Icons. Pretty on Pinterest ~ Icons That Mean Something To Me. Here are a few Icons that mean something to me and helped shape who I am today. I believe everyone is created and should be treated equal. War isn’t always the answer and sometimes a little love is all you need.

Gloria Steinean is a feminist activist and organizer. There is really no explanation needed why this women is important to me. She fights non-stop for my rights as a women and yours too. She continually fights to give women a voice and I am eternally grateful for women like her. I believe a women should be allowed to decided what happens to her body and no one should have control over a women’s body except that women.

Joan Baez – Singer, Songwriter, Social Activist in Human Rights. She is a hero of mine and through her words and songs I am reminded that fighting isn’t the answer. An eye for and eye will make the whole world go blind.

Martin Luther King, Jr. – I get chills up and down my body when I hear recordings of his voice. What a brave man!

John Lennon – He left some amazing music and art behind.

Singer-Songwriter, Musician and Poet, Bob Dylan. His music still resonates with young people today. Two of my favorite songs to this day has to be Blown’ In The Wind & Forever Young. Many of his songs became anthems for anti-war and the US civil rights.
