No compensation was given for this post. I attended a press event which facilitated this post. Hotel accommodations and airfare were provided.

General Hospital is the longest-running American soap  in production and celebrated its golden anniversary on April 1, 2013. As a special treat back in March, the press group I was with got the unique opportunity to visit the set of General Hospital. Casually strolling the set and taking photos was a major highlight from my time in Los Angeles back in March.

Visiting the set of General Hospital and meeting some of the stars was an experience I won’t soon forget. Just driving through the gates at The Prospect Studios in Hollywood gave me chills.

I’m almost 100% sure that either you, or someone close to you watches, or has known someone who watches General Hospital. For me, that person is my grandmother. I was a bit overwhelmed that I was visiting a set of a show that my grandmother use to enjoy watching. My grandmother loves her soaps, and when she’d come to visit us I would watch them with her.

Frank Valentini, the show’s executive producer was there to greet us on set. He’s in the back middle of the above photo. Frank is surrounded by some of the show’s most recognizable stars. (Clockwise from bottom left): Tyler Christopher, Roger Howarth, Jason Thompson, Sean Blakemore and Kelly Monaco (seated). Any of their faces look familiar to you?

As the Nurses Ball 2014 begins, several popular Port Charles residents will be noticeably absent from the Red Carpet and stuck at home watching the festivities on TV. Old and new loves will percolate while other find themselves in awkward situations. Amidst all the romantic drama, the never-dull Nurses Ball audience will be entertained with fun performances and sexy surprises.

One of the stars from General Hospital was nice enough to take a group photo with us. William deVry (Julian Jerome) was on set rehearsing, and get this, they were filming that day too. Anna Devane played by Finola Hughes even dropped in to say hi.

I had a great time playing on set of General Hospital. The cast and crew were all so inviting and a pleasure to spend the afternoon with. Thanks for having us.

Hey there, I’m Tiffany! I’m a work-at-home mom of two rambunctious children (Jasmine, 9 + Sean II, 5) and recently widowed at just 35 years old. I've remarried and currently live right outside of Baton Rouge in Denham Springs, Louisiana with two adoring cats and a dog. Let's connect on Twitter @fabulousmomblog.

  1. How cool! I remember my mom watching General Hospital when I was a kid.I didn’t realize it was the longest running soap opera either!

This is so cool! I used to watch GH for a long time. I haven’t seen it in a few years, but every now and then I catch bits and pieces. Glad to see a few of my favorites are still on!

  3. Wow back when I was in elementary school -I remember my friends flipping out over Luke and Laura’s wedding–never have been a fan myself–but it must have been way cool to visit the set!

  4. I never watched this soap opera but I do know about Luke and Laura. I think everyone does! How cool to be on the set and BTW, I think I think you need to be in scrubs, not answering telephones. 😉

  5. While I’ve never watched the show I do know a great group of ladies at my old job who watched it religiously at work during their lunch break. They all made sure they were off at the same time for lunch every day so they wouldn’t miss out! What a fun experience.

  6. It was such a great experience visiting the set of General Hospital. So interesting to see how they do everything and move from set to set.

How awesome. I have been watching General Hospital about 35 years and now my daughter is addicted to it as well. We watch it together every evening. I am taking her to Hollywood for spring break on Mar 26, 2016 and this is the only thing she really wants to do. Do you know how you can get a tour or are you able to visit? I have not been able to find anything on it. Any help would be appreciated.

  9. Hello there, You have done an incredible job. I will certainly digg it and personally recommend to my friends.

I am confident they will be benefited from this site.
